Privacy Policy
Last updated September 6, 2026
This policy describes what MeetMeFirst collects and how it is used. MeetMeFirst is a dating service: other users will see the profile information you choose to share.
What we collect
When you sign up and use the service, we store:
- Account: email and a hashed password
- Password reset: a hashed, short-lived one-time token if you ask to reset your password
- Profile: display name, gender, birthdate, bio, photos, dating intent
- Location: US state, county, city, and ZIP, used to show people nearby
- Activity: likes, passes, matches, chat messages, meetup proposals, meetup check-ins, still-interested votes after a date, contact handles you choose to share after date 3, no-show strikes, blocks, reports, and notes you send through Contact us in Settings
- Session cookies so you stay logged in
When you enter a ZIP, the site looks up city and county so we can confirm your location, and uses ZIP to estimate how far other people are. We do not sell your personal information.
What others see
People you can match with may see your name, photos, bio, age, gender, intent, and general location (city and area), not your email or password. Matches can see chat and meetup details you send. After three dates, if you both share a contact, each of you can see the handle the other typed. If you report someone, we keep the report so we can review it.
How we use it
We use this data to run the product: sign you in, enforce 18+ and opposite-gender matching, show Discover nearby (city, then county, then about a five-hour drive), enforce the three match slots and 5-day clock, apply no-show penalties, run the three-date path and contact reveal, and handle block and report.
How long we keep it
We keep your account until you delete it or we close it. Related likes, matches, messages, and photos are removed with the account.
Your choices
You can edit your profile while logged in. You can unmatch, block, or report. Pause or delete your account in Settings. For other questions, use Contact us in Settings.
